Banana Oat Bars – which ever way you like them (Edited with correct calories)

Ok so a friend posted this recipe a couple of days ago and I was so excited to share it but I had to make it first and of course in true Jaime fashion I didn’t follow the recipe.

I changed it up and have provided a couple of variations (not yet tried) that I think will work and have provided the calories for them as well.

I think this is a super versatile recipe that can be changed up to suit any fussiness. 

Lets start with the original recipe

Healthy Banana Apricot & Date Bars

For anyone that wants to try this one as per the recipe the details are below:
Serves: 24
Total calories: 1860
Total calories per serve: 78

NOW FOR MY VERSION. 

Option 1.

Banana Oat Bars with Coconut, Pear & Cacao

3 Large Bananas (Mashed)
3 Cups Rolled Oats
40g Dried Pear (approx 1/4 cup)
22.5g Coconut (Desiccated, approx 1/4 cup)
25g Raw Cacao
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
2 tsp Vanilla Essence
1 tsp Cinnamon (Ground)

YUM YUM, the kids love them, hubby loves then and so do I

Serves: 24
Total calories: 1770
Total calories per serve: 74

Option 2.

Banana Oat Bars with Coconut, Pear & Chocolate

3 Large Bananas (Mashed)
3 Cups Rolled Oats
40g Dried Pear (approx 1/4 cup)
22.5g Coconut (Desiccated, approx 1/4 cup)
40g Dairy Free Chocolate Chips (approx 1/3 cup)
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
2 tsp Vanilla Essence
1 tsp Cinnamon (Ground)

Serves: 24
Total calories: 1930
Total calories per serve: 80

Option 3.

Banana Oat Bars with Apricot, Chocolate & Orange

3 Large Bananas (Mashed)
3 Cups Rolled Oats
40g Dried Apricot (approx 1/4 cup)
40g Dairy Free Chocolate Chips (approx 1/3 cup)
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
2 tsp Vanilla Essence
1 tsp Cinnamon (Ground)
2 tsp Orange Zest

Serves: 24
Total calories: 1799
Total calories per serve: 75

  1. Lena, if you check out the Taste.com link you will find the original recipe which calls for them to be baked in the oven.I am making another batch tonight, after cooling I am going to vacuum pack them in 2's to see how long they last.
